The age old argument – price over experience…

Written on 19 Aug 2009, 10:21 AM

There are some same day courier companies that can help you organise the most challenging and logistically awkward deliveries you can imagine! So to get the best delivery you need the best kind of courier.

The best kind of courier has knowledge comes through experience and is invaluable when moving sensitive or awkward or fragile goods.

If you buy or sell high value items (such as auction houses) or have a difficult timing schedule a same day courier can add extra expertise that can only come from doing the job and getting it right. An inexperienced courier may cause thousands of pounds worth of damage to your freight or cargo by loading incorrectly or co-loading without prior confirmation, something that experienced couriers just won’t do.

When deliveries go wrong we still deliver the most precious things

Written on 29 Jun 2009, 07:53 PM

Wednesday was a difficult day for our same day courier and delivery business. It started off very well, two contracts were due to start and we were prepping our drivers with the new requirements. Two of our biggest ad hoc / express delivery customers were booking in jobs and we had all four of the fleet out, on the road.

At midday just before the new contracts were about to start our daughter collapsed, in a heap on the floor. We were stunned, she had been a bit quiet but no other indication that she was unwell.

Arrow Light Haulage Sponsor another offline Networking Event

Written on 10 Jun 2009, 03:20 PM

After the recent successes of our first two offline networking events we have decided to do something a bit different this time.

We are going to sponsor with a group of other companies a business networking barbeque in Lakeside West Thurrock.

What happens is local business people come along, meet up, chat, listen to two great speakers, sample our South African barbeque (it's authentic) and make good business connections. Our speakers are Alan Stevens aka the Media Coach and Baiju Solanki, local business man and performance coach.

There are still some exhibiting spaces left, if the local business community is the community you would like to do business with, then by all means come along. Come along just for the barbeque...

If you would like to try offline business networking or are part of a network and would like to be involved take a look at the event page, all our contact details are there. Busines... Read more

Written on 08 Feb 2009, 06:52 PM

The very nature of some products means that even if it snow, they still have to be delivered. Fuel, grit, Salt still have to be delivered and distributed. That means some delivery drivers have to take extra care when making their deliveries - that means being prepared for the worst whilst hoping for the best!

So here are some tips for journeys that have to be made.

1. Charge your mobile phone and make sure you have your breakdown recovery number in it.

2. Check you have a full tank of fuel and plenty of screenwash with the correct amount of water / antifreeze in the Read more
