the review by clare o is close to slander mentioning peoples names and such like and completely misleading infomation and incorrect details of the truth behind the problem and as such should be removed from this website immediately before ruining the reputation of a great little business and making the two names dirt in the community which provide great standards of care and work very hard in office to maintain that there carers work hard and professionally

I would be interested to know David S's connection with Home Care Professionals and whether it is strictly professional or if there is a personal relationship involved. I think it's a case of protesting too much. A ridiculous knee-jerk reaction to a very legitimate concern with much documented evidence, in the form of attendance records and correspondence from the owner herself, to back it up. That the owner is black is clearly an issue for him alone, as he is the only one to raise the race card and presumably he knows that the carers themselves represent various race groups. They are not the problem. The inability of the management to even organise and implement a simple roster is. This issue is not about race but about competence and I think David's posting is simply an attempt to deflect attention away from the real problem: incompetence and poor service by Home Care Professionals. The owner has my contact details and is more than welcome to contact me and discuss the matter. That she choses not to is a poor reflection on her willingness to resolve the situation.

Further to my previous log, I sent Home Care professionals a formal complaint on 6 October 2008 and asked them to respond with some kind of assurance that they would make an effort to provide the services that they're paid to provide. I haven' had even the courtesy of an acknowledgement of my email, let alone any reassurance that the agency would try to sort out the problem. There's absolutely NOTHING "professional" about this agency!

Home Care Professionals are paid a lot of money to look after my mum. Their carers fail to arrive on a regular basis (they're supposed to go 3 times a day and often at least one doesn't pitch up), the 24-hour emergency phone number goes unanswered and when you eventually do get through to them you get lies and excuses. Nicky's famous line "I'll call you back" - yeah right!! Their carers are untrained, ignorant of the need to wear gloves, wash hands before food preparation etc. and my mum is constantly having to train the new carers who are sent and don't have the faintest idea of what they're doing. The carers themselves are generally very pleasant but the agency is VERY poorly run. I consider it a complete rip off - blatant profiteering from the vulnerability of the aged and disabled. Why is there no monitoring or evaluation by the government of this kind of dodgy company? An objective evaluator should be contacting the clients of such companies for feedback - Home Care Professionals is being funded to a significant extent by the government and some effort should be made to check whether they are actually providing the services they claim to. I live in South Africa and my sister in Southend is disabled herself and can't cope with chasing up Home Care Professionals. My dad has end stage cancer and my mum "doesn't want to cause a scene", ie is scared of being victimised if she complains. I can watch / hear from afar but feel very frustrated and powerless when it comes to taking action.
