Mexican Restaurants in Southend > Panchos Cantina
I went here for my birthday a few nights ago, I had a lovely night. The food was remarkable, the cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere was highly entertaining! I even went home with a sombrero! All in all a top night. I cannot fault Panchos in the slightest. Eat, drink and be extremely merry x

Hmm ... read the previous review and although I don't deny it happened I just feel sorry that the waiter obviously was having a bad day. I turned up with 43 other people celebrating 3 birthdays! The decor is multicoloured and fun. We were seated up stairs and although a little cramped I wasn't too worried as they were trying to fit a lot of us in! The food was AMAZING! Most things have a spicy tinge to them but this should be expected ... you are in a Mexican! There are softer options, in fact - the only people moaning were the blokes who thought they could cope with the spicier foods when they couldn't!) I'm definately going back again and hope you can take the chance too.... especially if you like your food spicy hot!

Having searched the internet for a Mexican restuarant in Southend for our weekend away, I came across Panchos and even though I'd read some reviews thought we'd give it a shot. I booked the restaurant for 7pm and after the guy did some 'umming and arring' said he could accomodate us but we would have to be out by 8.30. No problem. When we arrived to the restaurant it looked like a multi coloured cafe and felt a tad over dressed but we were still not put off until we walked inside to what I can only describe as a sceen from Oliver Twist, long lines of benches shoved together. There was no-one in there apart from a family shoved in the corner of the room. Ok, no problem, but when the guy said we'd have to be out in 10mins and shoved a small table up against a wall, my partner flipped. It's hardly the sort of thing you expect. He obviously didn't want us there so even though we didn't even manage to sit down, we walked out with him trying to apologise to us. Give this place a wide berth.
