Piccolo Restaurant

Piccolo has a basic layout & that adds to the atmosphere. We ordered one of the specials, seafood salad together with calamari, aubergine parmesan & tricolour salad. The first three were all served piping hot but the seafood salad contained squid, a few mussels and small-defrosted prawns. The latter was disappointing. We were also given garlic bread, which was a small plate for 4 . We assumed these were complimentary as they were offered after we had ordered, but we were charged for 2 plates @ £6.00. Main courses were 2 Carbonaras, hot & delicious, one pizza, tasty, and calves liver which was one bit of kidney, one tasteless slice of liver & onions & two slices of undercooked bacon. This was the most expensive meal & there were no vegetables. The deserts were 2 Cassatas, which were nice Tiramisu, which was tasty & a choux pasty confection. The bill was £92.00 & included an obligatory 10% tip. However prices were too high and I would expect to pay about £60.00 for the meal,
