Don't waste your time!




We were suppose to have our windows and some building work done by this company. We were having an internal wall knocked down and some plastering. Paul, the company owner, thought the wall was a supporting wall and would need an RSJ, my husband had said that he didn't think the wall was a supporting wall and offerd to lift the floorboards so Paul could have a look, Paul decline and put us in touch with an architect that he uses,for which we had to pay £275. The architect also said the wall was a supporting wall, and again didn't want to look underneath the floorboards. We also had to pay for building regulations because it was thoguht to be a supporting wall and needed (apparently) an RSJ. When my husband looked under the floorboards whilst he was doing some plumbing work, he noticed that the wall wasn't a supporting wall at all! He informed Paul and Paul confirmed that the wall wasn't supporting and as such we wouldn't of needed the architect or the building regulations. So that was over £400 we had paid out even before a brick had been removed! Well, they knocked the wall down and the following day they didn't turn up, we didn't hear from them until they came on the day after. Paul plastered some of the ceiling (he was plastering over thin artex) The following day, Pauls builder, PJ, was laying dusts sheets when most of the plaster from the ceiling fell off, in one big sheet. They tried to blame this on the artex, saying it hadn't been bonded to the ceiling, when in fact the artex was the only thing that was left on the ceiling and had been there for over 6 years, they wanted to charge me another days labour for this! Since then they have scraped most of the artex off the ceiling and put 2 sheets of plater board on the chimney breast, and they were suppose to be back on Monday(14/7/08) and haven't turned up! We have tried ringing the landline number and it says number not recognised and Paul's mobile number just switches straight to answer machine, we have left numerous messages, but had no reply! The idea was for them to finish all the plastering on Tues (15th) and start the windows on Weds (16th), but we have not heard anything from them at all. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we've been through, it has been so streeful, I would not recommend this company to anybody.
